Bite-size, Half Day or Full Day
This inspiring and thought-provoking Emotional Intelligence Training Workshop is entirely practical. It inspires and challenges on both intellectual and emotional levels. It is designed to spark thinking in novel ways and encourage performance behaviours that work for life inside and outside of the workplace. We cram a host of practical skills and theories into this fascinating introduction. You’ll even get to assess your own EI.
Emotional intelligence (EI or EQ) has been found to be twice as important as other competencies in determining outstanding leadership. EI is linked to strong performance because, for example, it can help us to work better with others, or to lead change more effectively. Even the most socially savvy among us can improve our emotional intelligence; it’s a lifelong process. The aim of this workshop is to help people to learn more about this critical skill and each of its components. We will look at what emotional intelligence is, why it is important and how we can strengthen our emotional intelligence skills. We will take a look at some material from Daniel Goleman, the psychologist that developed a framework of five elements that define emotional intelligence.
After breaking into smaller groups, participants will have an opportunity to discuss the EI strengths of their organisation, why they matter and how they can apply them in their day-to-day at work, as well as looking at EI areas of development. Once the group work is complete, there will be an opportunity for individuals to examine their own perceptions of EI around several key competencies by completing a quiz and there will be an opportunity for staff to talk to the trainer afterwards about anything raised from the session and how they might be able to develop their EI further.
